I saw the Wainwrights when they were out here recently (at least the female side + Rufus) and it was good, though I admit to being more interested in Rufus (musically!) than the women.

I'm not the big fan of the family though, [livejournal.com profile] smuffster is that and she got me onto him.

As for Ewan... he's just fantastic. I saw him on Parkinson recently and he's great as a chat show guest too, very natural.

One thing I love about MR is the real chemistry between Ewan and Nicole. You could swear they really were lovers, the amount of electricity and emotion flowing between them. When Ewan is singing "Your Song" there is a cute little smile that NK gives him that doesn't seem at all acted or forced.

ah, I went to the Rufus concert @ Manchester lane back in Feb - you werne't there by any chance, were you? That would be.. small world! lol. I'm more of a rufus fan, too, but I do like Martha. but I probably would've never got into her if I didn't like rufus first, so yeah.

yes, ewan is just great, he has a lot of charisma and seems very unpretentious and makes a lot of interesting choices re film roles, too. I've seen hmi on parky before, and yes, he is a great chat show guest. I think Parky kind of adores him, too, hehe.

*nods* I think MR is one of Ewan's really great performances. the bit that always gets me is the death scene at the end - it doesn't make me cry or anything, but the emotion in it seems so genuine. and I think I remember reading that Ewan and NK became good friends filming that movie, so yes, there is definate chemistry between them.
